[OPEN] login screen: change between xfce to i3 w/ multiple monitors

Post by biodanilo » Mon Sep 09, 2019 1:31 am

This probably is a very dumb question, but still, I cannot figure it out.

At login screen (ArcoLinux iso), when multiple monitors are connected (e.g. a notebook + external AOC monitor):
- When I try to change between the wm I get a screen with (just and nothing more) an image background (like a wallpaper).

If I want to change between wm I need to
1) disconnect the external monitor,
2) login (e.g. xfce)
3) logout
4) choose i3 (or openbox)
5) login
6) poweroff
7) connect the external monitor
8) login to i3

and just like that I can change form xfce to i3 wm.

Any help?

Best,

in xfce you can set the display in the xfce settings. Try that first.

If that does not work. See if xrandr can help you.
