[OPEN] disabling a key on keyboard

Post by kartub » Tue Oct 02, 2018 6:51 am

hi!
i had an earlier version of arcolinux for the past few weeks. one key on my laptop is always pressed (Pg Dn keycode =117) so i had disabled it

Code: Select all

xmodmap -e "keycode 117="
and it was disabled.
but after the update now, using the same code doesnt seem to work.
i tried

Code: Select all

xev
and the same key is being pressed.
does anybody know any solutions?

Does this happen to all linux distro's?
Is your keyboard faulty? Is it stuck and pressed in somehow?
We did not change anything in regard with keyboards.

yes, one of my keys is faulty (the page down one)
but when i had a previous version of ARCOLINUX, i used the command of blocking the page down key and it used to work (the page was not doing down)
now i have installed a new version of arcolinux (deleting the old one and reinstalling ) and this solution does not seem to work, the page is going down even after using the command.
