my main laptop is a XMG Fushion 15 with the following specs
My 2nd laptop for a project I am using a
I did install Arco Linux Budgie DE onto it yesterday late evening on the SSD to be my "I have to go to the office one a week" system and it works great. just one small flaw the lock screen feature is not working with lightdm.

Needed to do add a a rtl8723ae.conf file to /etc/modprobe.d get the WiFi working with the following:
options rtl8723ae msi=1 fwlps=0
Also I disabled Hibernation and Suspend, because the WiFi will loose connection.
