[SOLVED] Arcolinux Tweak Tool not working

Post by _Noku_ »

Hi :D ,
So I just installed a fresh Arch install and wanted to install the arcolinux tweak tool to install the xmonad configs.

I added the repos with Arcolinux Spices and then installed ATT with sudo pacman -S arcolinux-tweak-tool-git
But when I now try to open it, it only shows the splash screen for a couple of seconds and then closes.
When i run it from the Terminal I get this Error

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/arcolinux-tweak-tool/arcolinux-tweak-tool.py", line 2219, in <module>
    w = Main()
  File "/usr/share/arcolinux-tweak-tool/arcolinux-tweak-tool.py", line 113, in __init__
    Functions.shutil.copy(Functions.sddm_default_d_sddm_original_1,
  File "/usr/lib/python3.10/shutil.py", line 417, in copy
    copyfile(src, dst, follow_symlinks=follow_symlinks)
  File "/usr/lib/python3.10/shutil.py", line 254, in copyfile
    with open(src, 'rb') as fsrc:
FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/local/share/arcolinux/sddm.conf.d/sddm.conf'
I use sddm with my theme and have the configs in /usr/lib/sddm/sddm.conf.d/default.conf
I tried to reinstall it several times, brought nothing

I really dont know what to do, I searched the Internet and found nothing about this problem, so I hope I'll get help here

Option 1

stick to arcolinux tweak tool
and install

Code: Select all

sudo pacman -S arcolinux-system-config-git
you are missing a file that is why ATT does not work

If you create an empty file it might work if you install also

Option 2

install this one

Code: Select all

sudo pacman -S archlinux-tweaktool-dev-git
It is still in development so it will crash during development as well.

we are moving away from ArcoLinux to ArchLinux.

ps you do not need any of the ATT funtions

they can be done with scripts at any time

To the OP- I had a similar error when running att. Running fix-sddm-conf corrected the error.

@erikdubois

Where are the att scripts you mentioned kept? Being curious I would like to read them.

Thanks for all your hard work on Arco Linux!
