[OPEN] Xbacklight doesn't work on i3WM

Post by brcmesquita »

I installed Arcolinux i3WM on my Lenovo ideapad 330, with an Intel i5 8250-U. Because it's a laptop, I can adjust the screen brightness. However, it's not working. When I install any other WM like, GNOME, XFCE, Cinammon, KDE etc, it works normally.

I finally fixed the problem, and it was pretty easy. Follow the step by step:

Uninstall Xbacklight:

Code: Select all

pacman -R xorg-xbacklight
Install ACPILight:

Code: Select all

pacman -S acpilight
Give permissions:

Code: Select all

sudo gpasswd -a your_username video
Then reboot.

P.S.: I don't know if this is the right place to post it.
