[SOLVED] Picom/compton and alacritty

Post by Ryedunn »

Im not sure if this is a known issue or by design but when installing ArcoLinuxB with both Awesome and Alacritty.
Both /etc/skel/.config/awesome/picom.conf and ~/.config/awesome/scripts/picom.conf contain the following line:
opacity-rule = [ "80:class_g = 'Alacritty'" ]

Seems pretty obvious what this does, just odd that Alacritty is the only terminal where this is added by default.

Since its in both directories, Im sure it was unknowingly copied into the distro, and not intentionally added by Arco. Perhaps the line could be commented out to avoid anyone wasting a few... hours  trying to find out why this was the only terminal that was constantly transparent no matter the application settings.

Regardless, just trying to help. Happy new year and keep up the great work!
