When I get into SDDM Login Manager/Display manager I have problem with lagging keyboard. While HDD is still working I am typing password and characters sometime are not appear. It happend right after SDDM appear. After a while this problem dissapear and you can easily type without lag.
This might be broader topic, but I will write it here because I am working on KDE Plasma.
Is it connected with some login process priority niceness?
Edit: SImilar behaviour is when Laptop is backed from sleep. Lid is taken up.

Your post slipped through the cracks.
Hardware and the speed of it matters.
Try another sddm theme.
Try lightdm instead of sddm or gdm.
Analyzing why it happens is part of being on Linux.
