[SOLVED] Oblogout

Post by zar-marco » Mon May 21, 2018 7:37 pm

Hi all, today I've installed only bspwm sxhdc and oblogout, but I've a problem with logout. Shutdown restart, hibernate and suspend, go. But if I click on logout it doesn't go. I've try to substituted on oblogout.conf xfce4-power-manager logout instead open box exit, but nothing

Ahh so I am not the only one after all. I have the same problem and the only thing I have skipped from the scripts are some text editors. I just gave up on it after not finding anything when googling.

if you check /etc/oblogout.conf at the bottom make sure for bspwm the logout line says

Code: Select all

logout = pkill bspwm
script 920 changes that line from the openbox logout to bspwm

Furthermore, you can't run oblogout on multiple desktops. For example if you have openbox installed, and then want to install bspwm, after you run script 920, the logout will work for bspwm and no longer in openbox.

So come to find out when I got home from work today I checked /etc/oblogout.conf and noticed that all I had was oblogout.conf.arcolinuxnew. I edited that to include logout = pkill bspwm as Nick suggested renamed it to oblogout.conf and I am in business. Again much appreciation Nick!!

FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

oblogout.conf.arcolinuxnew is a configuration file we make, because we created more icon themes to exit your system. So we added more lines to it. With just one hashtag you change the icons.

oblogout.conf is the official configuration that kicks in and is being used by the machine.

MY procedure for updating is the following. I open /etc/ as root.
Then I do a compare (right mouse click) - actually meld- between oblogout.conf and oblogout.conf.arcolinuxnew and add the new lines aka the new themes we added to oblogout.conf.
Save it.
Enjoy it.
