[OPEN] Window adjustments...

Post by hitecPanda » Fri Apr 20, 2018 8:50 am

Hi,

I really enjoy using Arcolinux but one thing that I found to be quite irritating is dealing with the resizing of some windows.

The range to select the window on the sides and extremely lower right corner is *WAY* too small, like 1 pixel I think. While watching your videos, I noticed that you yourself Erik were having troubles with this.

That and also the scrollbars are too narrow for my taste.

Are there a settings somewhere to fix/tweak this ?

Yes I agree - this endless ''Targeting on that final pixel at the edge of the window border - to get the Bullseye shot with Left Click '' LOL
Damn :) it is really annoying and painful for wrist and finger .. maybe whole arm.

Lately, just by chance, I discovered in (Xfce) this:

Alt + Right_Click(hold-down) + Drag with Mouse

- and it seems working quite well - You don't need to target very precisely to the window edge any more, but just put cursor near the border and do the trick! to adjust window size! (anyway it's harder with laptop and (multi-touch) track-pad only , without mouse :(

I don't know these tech things how this works, but that combination somehow overrides
the grab? , drag? or grip? area (i don’t know right name) and it is really much easier to adjust window size.

Truly! it may feel a kind of very "GOOFY" option for almost every one, who have been 'married' with
"M$ Wind'BL'ows" his/her entire conscious life :) (like me myself LOL) and I'm very sure - this was (is?) never working in any "M$" releases or products.

Also I have never ever heard about this feature in Linux either, but because of frequent 'Hoping' from Xfce to bspwm and back -lately, --I get all the time confused with those "crazy" LOL KEY-combinations and mouse and such .. it just happend! wrong key press ,wrong click and .. boom .. it works ! LOL

Hope this helps :)
