[CLOSED]Bad link in FAQ section...
Hi,
I just joined up today and While browsing in the FAQ section, {INFO} 10 things to do after a clean install, the link given there gives a 404 not found error. Just thought I'd mention this.

Re: Bad link in FAQ section...
Hi,
I'm similar to the original poster...a newbie to ArcoLinux and the forums. So, being a good netizen, I've been reading the old forum posts.
As far as I can tell, EVERY previous post with an embedded link to "http://archmerge..." has a 404 error for that link.
IMO this really reduces the value of the previous posts from a knowledgebase perspective.
If those previous posts exist "somewhere", can you either:
1) Create an alias or redirect from archmerge to archlinux, or
2) (I'm guessing here) If the content is maintained in a backend database, can you do a global search and replace of "http://archmerge..." to "http://arcolinux..."?
3) Some othxer fix I'm not thinking of.
This assumes that the previous content is still available and hosted somewhere.
EDIT:
Certainly the ArcoLinux team have a lot on their plate, so this may not be top of their list. Since my original post above, I've discovered that if you do a "manual URL rewrite" you can get the old links to work. In other words, if you click a link in an old post "http://archmerge..." and get a 404 error, change the URL to "http://arcolinux...". (The URL might be "http://arcolinuxformum...") A quick spot check yesterday seemed to work OK - it pulled up the relevant topic. I don't have time right now to find a example to paste here, but give that a try until the ArcoLinux team have a chance to update the previous posts.

That is not going to happen, because there is a continuous supply of new articles.but give that a try until the ArcoLinux team have a chance to update the previous posts.
