Graphical Tool for User Management?

Post by Mr. Storage » Thu Oct 18, 2018 7:23 am

(Current environment: Kernel: 4.18.14-arch1-1-ARCH x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Xfce 4.12.4)

"Make Linux simple"
Maybe it is just me but I seem to miss a graphical tool to perform user management.

Howto about adding a user using CLI is good enough for time being but if you want to make it really simple a GUI tool should not be forgotten.

Keep up the good work!

Yes it does not seem to come with xfce
Any suggestions there...
It should be desktop independent.

Personally I will not use it since I am guessing we are mostly the only user on any given computer.

True for at least us nerds but you want to provide another option for replacing Windows as a desktop right?

In addition I have to admit that this is only the second time I used Xfce and I cannot recall having a Graphical user management tool at Xfce before.
So I also must turn to Google and start my search from there.
According: https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=8296 they use gnome-system-tools for that matter as there seems not to be a graphical tool yet from Xfce.

Was not able to locate gnome-system-tools at the package manager.
Is that a good enough suggestion?

Followup to my last reply.

In one forum they mentioning to use mate-system-tools as that package should have less dependencies than gnome-system-tools.
