I wondered when this question would come.

Actually you have already the answer on your computer.

Pywal works on i3. If you are on ArcoLinux 6.8.2 you can find the config here

~/.config/i3/config

Search for pywal - line 667

That is the code you need - now it is just a matter of making a keybinding in openbox.

Enjoy.

Maybe you made one already and didn't see it yet

I searched for keyboard on the ArcoLinux youtube channel

Think out of the box... it will be the same procedure on ANY openbox.

Often I will just change it in the file

~/.config/openbox/rc.xml

Simply copying the command across into the openbox rc.xml will not work (even if you escape the ampersands properly for xml) because the command will not be executed in a shell (see http://openbox.org/wiki/Help:Actions#Execute).

Rather you will need to place the commands in a separate shell script and use rc.xml to point to that.

As an example, make a script called "next.sh" containing just the pywal-variety "next" command:

Code: Select all

<keybind key="S-A-n">
      <action name="Execute">
        <command>/path/to/next.sh</command>
      </action>
Working for me now in Openbox!

Eric, you are right - it was just info for the OP.

One more (general) tip for pywal though before this is closed:

Add this code to your bashrc/zshrc to apply its theming to newly opened terminals too:

Code: Select all

(cat ~/.cache/wal/sequences &)
