If you are building an ISO and are having problems with timeouts causing the build to fail you can try the following:

Open the archiso directory inside the directory that contains the iso build scripts, and edit the pacman.conf file. Find the lines for the arcolinux repos and duplicate the server lines several times:

Code: Select all

[arcolinux_repo]
SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
Server = https://arcolinux.github.io/arcolinux_repo/$arch
Server = https://arcolinux.github.io/arcolinux_repo/$arch
Server = https://arcolinux.github.io/arcolinux_repo/$arch
Server = https://arcolinux.github.io/arcolinux_repo/$arch

[arcolinux_repo_iso]
SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
Server = https://arcolinux.github.io/arcolinux_repo_iso/$arch
Server = https://arcolinux.github.io/arcolinux_repo_iso/$arch
Server = https://arcolinux.github.io/arcolinux_repo_iso/$arch
Server = https://arcolinux.github.io/arcolinux_repo_iso/$arch
When there is a timeout pacman will then retry up to 4 times before failing.

It seems to work for me. If pacman times out you will get a message about it switching to the next mirror and it will try again.

I will grab the error message the next time it happens.

I think it only works if the timeout happens while downloading an actual package. If you get a timeout while updating the package list I don't think my suggestion helps.

The latest BYOI scripts now have a mirror for the ArcoLinux repos. This can be closed.
