[SOLVED] plexmediaserver

Post by jurgen69 » Sun Oct 07, 2018 7:39 am

i you search for plex-media-server , in aur and you install this on arco xfce , the strange is , if install is finish its not there , but i have see this in all build not only in this new build but in all ..
if you install that on a debian service it is working , there is no need for plex media player , is the build plex media server corrupt or is there another way to get it working...

Just installed it

Code: Select all

yay -S plex-media-server
yay -S plex-media-player
It installs fine. And is in the menu of Xfce.
Then it starts fine.
I started the service for it like this.

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl enable plexmediaserver.service
NOW REBOOT

what i do it dont matter , if you install from termite , or pakket manager ,i see in the wisker menu 2 plex media players , but NOT THAT SERVER

SO IF YOU RUN
sudo systemctl enable plexmediaserver.service
that wil not work :|

i search for a video of it and look what is wrong here .. all the files are on my computer but there are 2 times plex media players but not server lol

This is how normally this must work on any arch system but it dont work for me , the server is all what you must install , but whatever i do it have never work at all , so i have follow all the steps , i even have done it in 3 other ways and not one is working ,

user@arch:$ git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/plex-media-server.git
go into that directory

user@arch:$ cd plex-media-server
then build the package by simply typing:

user@arch:$ makepkg
it will take a little time to create the package which depends on your Internet speed and system. after a successful package building you can install that package by typing:

user@arch:$ sudo pacman -U plex-media-server****
(package name can be a little different. I’ll suggest you press Tab key after typing plex)

after installing you should enable the plex service to start automatically when the system boots up. type this:

user@arch:$ sudo systemctl enable plexmediaserver.service
you can reboot your system to start the service by typing:

user@arch:$ sudo systemctl start plexmediaserver.service

is it possible to make a video of plex media server in arcolinux about this problem , i like to see if this is really working but i doubt it
