[CLOSED]ArcoLinuxB Deepin - problems with os start

Post by medunu » Tue Dec 25, 2018 7:16 pm

Since last update I have an issue booting Deepin Arcolinux. After boot, I have black screen untill laptop's screen enter in sleep mode, then I press space, I have login window and till dock is completely on screen, computer work very slow. After that everything is ok.
Same thing is happening when boot from usb stick. I use an ISO downloaded from arcolinux site. Installation was wery hard to accomplish, computer seems to freeze every button press. After successful install, I run into same issue.
I installed last iso with Plasma, worked ok, after update same issue.
I have an Hp mt 42 with AMD A8 processor and 8Gb ram, 64 ssd. I have run Deepin Arcolinux from june on this laptop without problems.
Installed ubuntu to conclude that hardware is ok and it does a good job.

I want back my arcolinux Deepin so can you send me some tips?

Sincerely yours
Marian

PS Last Deepin iso is installed on an older double core Intel pc with 2 gb ram and is working very good (on ssd)

Hi marian,

thanks for reporting your issue here.

After rereading it several times this sentence caught my attention
I installed last iso with Plasma, worked ok, after update same issue.
Did you try to downgrade the kernel or install the linux-lts kernel on this machine?

or

If you can still get into TTY... see if you can update and get the latest kernel in... there were quite a few releases... you might be on a 'bad' kernel

Hello Erik
Tried both linux-lts and linux-zen kernels. On both I do not have wifi, on lts loading os was slowly but without freezing. I run dmesg on current kernel (4.19.12) and on lts and I have some ACPI errors. Can you look at them and send me a clue? May I send those files to you by email?

Marian

We all have acpi errors - probably not the issue.
If you send the dmesg then everything.

I was building the ArcoLinuxB-Deepin-minimal.

Did you try building the ArcoLinuxB-Deepin

It will have the latest linux kernel already installed.

Build deepin-minimal, installed it and same problem, I downgraded linux kernel, no change,
When screen is black but illuminated, computer not freeze, but not get TTy (none combination of keys did not work). After screen sleep, awake it at a button press, as I am in login window, I could get TTy.
In login screen I do not see in password field anything when press password, but after press enter, I am logged in. After that seems to be ok.

No ideea what to do. Installed again ubuntu and work perfect.
Do you have an iso from October this year? .

There are more iso's online on sourceforge but also other desktops.

My experience with deepin a few months ago was this. May be related.

Deepin usb Installed fine and after boot up I had a black screen. Nothing were I could type in my password BUT when I typed in my password and pressing enter it logged me in and everything was fine.

There are other desktops out there.
