[OPEN] power manager not working

the power manager doesn't affect my system at all not changing brightness level when unplug or suspend automatically as i choose

What hardware do you have?

the settings don't take affect on the system for example if i set brightness to be 50% on battery mode and full when plug in that action doesn't take affect nothing changed, The system doesn't go for suspended.
