Hi, i'm new.
I bought this around two month ago and I want to install Arcolinux on 1 tera hdd.

Asus VivoBook Pro Notebook, 15.6" 4K/UHD IPS, Intel Core i7-7700HQ, RAM 16 GB, HDD da 1TB e SSD da 512 GB, NVidia GTX1050

I've been installed arcolinux but when i login it blocks sometimes my mouse or my keyboard or all the system. How can I do?
I love arch and I want to use it. (On my old pc it worked)

Thanks!

Yes

then it is definitely a hardware error and no error caused by arcolinux.
as you might understand, this is very difficult to solve through a forum.
have you tested other distros on your laptop?

Hi i have some question :

in the bios you turned off secure boot? and install arco

next if that issue happens again ,than install it with legacy mod! legacy mod option is in the bios

Already tried. Doesn't work. I think it's a driver problem

Hi Lynkato,

I have the same Laptop.
1. Try the Arcolinux B - Cinnamon, works better than xfce on this PC.
2. NVIDIA does´nt support our hw (with Arch) so go for nouveau driver.
3. the new linuxkernel works better that 2 weeks ago. 4.18.9 --> 4.18.12
4. first install --> hard shutdown--> login--> mirror/update --> hopfully stable for you.

Solved!

Install Bumblebee.

Bumblebee is an effort to make NVIDIA Optimus enabled laptops work in GNU/Linux systems. Such feature involves two graphics cards with two different power consumption profiles plugged in a layered way sharing a single framebuffer.

1. Install Bumblebee

Code: Select all

pacman -S bumblebee
2. add your user to Bumblebee group

Code: Select all

sudo gpasswd -a [user] bumblebee
Stable as as rock :D
