[OPEN] Locale damaged ;-(

Post by airbutre » Mon Mar 11, 2019 6:42 pm

Hi guys,
a system-update (i suppose) on my ArcoLinuxB-deepin-min v19.02.4, does something strange to my locale-settings .....

Code: Select all

[pad@pad-pc ~]$ sysinfo
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
	LANGUAGE = "de_DE",
	LC_ALL = (unset),
	LANG = "de_DE.UTF-8"
    are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

LC_ALL=
The main-problem is right now: i cannot work with my sabnzbd-programm:
"SABnzbd was started with encoding ANSI_X3.4-1968, this should be UTF-8. Expect problems with Unicoded file and directory names in downloads."

I have a workaround, but that's not the solution for the future. I do start sabnzbd by command-line ....

Code: Select all

[pad@pad-pc ~]$ env LANG=de_AT.UTF-8 sabnzbd
... and the error-message will not appear.

My /etc/locale.conf looks like this:

Code: Select all

LANG=de_AT.UTF-8
Help is appreciated.

You may have gone to the wiki already

but here is its link

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Locale
Learn, have fun and enjoy.
But first use the power of the Arch Wiki
use the tutorials on https://www.youtube.com/erikdubois
then use the power of google
