[OPEN] Automatic Driver Detection And Installation

Post by vasanthdeveloper » Tue Apr 09, 2019 2:08 pm

Hey, how do I automatically detect and install graphics drivers in Arch Linux? So, I have an Intel HD 630 Graphics (rev 4) graphics card. Initially, I used to install packages mesa and xf86-video-intel. But they used to give me screen flickering while recording my desktop with ffmpeg. This issue was fixed by replacing the xf86-video-intel package with vulkan-intel package. After doing a bit of research I got to know that:

Graphics Cards below Ivy Bridge require: mesa, xf86-video-intel
and Graphics Cards after Ivy Bridge require: mesa, vulkan-intel.

Can you please give me a list of packages to be installed for nVidia, AMD and a few other graphics cards?
I am preparing an automatic graphics driver detection and installation feature for my project.
Thank You :)

Maybe you join this project ... hics_Cards

or use the knowledge they have gathered over the years.
Learn, have fun and enjoy.
But first use the power of the Arch Wiki
use the tutorials on
then use the power of google
then use the power of our moderators.
