[SOLVED] amdgpu-pro AUR snap missing Vulkan

Post by Kepos » Sun Aug 25, 2019 6:51 pm

Hi,

I'm testing ArcoLinux-B Deepin edition and just followed the instructions from AUR. The installation worked without a problem, but I can't find Vulkan support with

Code: Select all

vulkaninfo
and Steam's Proton doesn't work without.

Code: Select all

inxi -Fz
shows amdgpu-pro driver installed. I had Mesa + Vulkan pre-installed before I used the AUR instructions. From other distro's I know, amdgpu-pro should have Vulkan support included.

Any hint on how to solve this? If no other option is there a way how-to de-install and to keep mesa driver?

Got the issue running on myself lately. So I just post how-to.

Checked Kernel first, as I knew the driver only works with higher then 4.15-Kernel, but I have 5.2.9 installed. Then I tried to install vulkaninfo (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gpu-viewer/) which brought up a conflict between 'mesa-demo' and 'glxinfo'. De-installed 'glxinfo' and so I got vulkaninfo and additionally now the requested vulkan driver up and running.
