[OPEN] Issue with Picom and shadows

I seem to have an issue with picom and shadows with launchers such as Ulauncher & Synapse.

In the past with compton I've gone into compton.conf and set shadow exclude options for programs like these with success.

However, the same settings don't work for me with picom.

I'm using BSPWM and whatever I do I can't seem to get rid of the borders around Ulauncher & Synapse: does anyone have any clever suggestions?
