[SOLVED] pptp NetworkManager Applet does not work for me

Post by chrisros » Wed Jul 18, 2018 12:53 pm

As I sometime use open network with my laptop, I want to use pptp protocol for security concern.
I had some issues that NetworkManager Applet do not want to connect. The dialog with Applet just vanishes without any notifications.
Feel that the Applet is in some conflict with something and do not want to engage the ptpp service.

I have searched on "PPTP VPN client" at Archlinux and on this forum if anybody had this experience.

I have installed software pptpclient and pptp VPN client(networkmanager -pptp) for your notice.

I have no experience with this. Maybe someone else can pitch in.

I dont use pptp but version 1.8.16-1 of nm-connection-editor has some serious flaws regarding vpn so i have rolled back to version 1.18.14-1 and that working fine.
