[SOLVED] created grub on sda instead of sdb in Calamares' GRUB section

Post by Bourbon » Fri Mar 22, 2019 9:50 pm

Hi All,

I am happy to say that I have just installed arcolinuxb-plasma-v19.03.4.iso
on my desktop machine with two HDD:
/dev/sda = Windows
/dev/sdb = Linux (several distros)
but after process done I realized that did a mistake during installation: forgot to check GRUB section so it is installed with the default option /dev/sda I suppose.
Already I have GRUB installed on Linux Mint on /dev/sdb (/dev/sda reserved to Windows), I did "sudo update-grub" on Linux Mint, no problem, boot fine and everything work.
The question is: due my mistake do I have GRUB installed on /dev/sda too?
It is a problem? If "yes" what I can do to solve it? (I feel like made /dev/sda "dirty")

Image here: Image
(not my installation got the image online to show you the section where I did mistake)

Thank you for reading
Ciao

Best thing to do for any future readers of this article is to disconnect your second or third harddisk/ssd to avoid mistakes like that.

There is no issue at the moment.

You can continue to work like this.
