Re: [INFO] NVIDIA Driver Install for Noobs

Thanks Erik! For some reason, the email client I use, Hiri doesn't play well with the open source nvidia drivers and my framerates on a few games I like to play on my breaks, were excruciating. The only issue I have now is that the font size in my Window Buttons within the xfce panel are super large...

[INFO] NVIDIA Driver Install for Noobs

I'm new to ArcoLinux and ran into some issues while installing the Nvidia drivers for Steam and left out one important step. I had to install all three compenents below. sudo pacman –S nvidia sudo pacman –S nvidia-utils sudo pacman –S lib32-nvidia-utils The lib32 is what I was missing until doing so...

Re: [OPEN] NVMe drivers and installation

I'm happy to report that I am typing this from my new ArcoLinux Installation!! The problem, as best as I can tell is due to MBR being used during the installation via Calamares along with Secure Boot. For the heck of it, I disabled Secure Boot, selected legacy ROMS within the bios with no EFI and my...

Re: [OPEN] NVMe drivers and installation

Per the UEFI specificaiton, GPT is required to boot from.

Any ideas as to how we might get around this?

Re: [OPEN] NVMe drivers and installation

Erik, I had some free time last night after work and tried another install of ArcoLinux to my work PC with the Samsung NVMe SSD and noticed that when asked to manually partition the drive within Calamares, I'm only given the option of MBR and not GPT. Is that correct? In fact, as best as I could tel...

Re: [OPEN] NVMe drivers and installation

I've tried two NVMe SSD's so far with no luck. First one was a Toshiba KXG50ZV1T02 and now I'm trying to test with a Samsung 970 EVO. Calamares can see it fine and install ArcoLinux onto it but when I try to boot to it, it can't find the drive. The only OS i have on another drive is Ubuntu which ins...

Re: [OPEN] NVMe drivers and installation

Hello Chm0d, i am in a similar situation. I have an NVMe SSD but the calamares installer does not detect the NVMe SSD. The NVMe SSD in my laptop connected to the PCIe Bus. Can you share with me your disk setup ? Thanks a lot. Regards My issue is exactly the opposite of yours. Calamares sees my NVMe...
