[CLOSED] Some kind of font amnesia

Post by Poetician » Tue Dec 03, 2019 5:50 pm

I use Parcellite as my clipboard manager. Bauhaus is my preferred font. It however doesn't display upper case diacritics I quickly discovered. So after a system-wide switch to Bauhaus, I've backtracked.

Glitches - the 'user fonts' all got deselected even though I hadn't touched them, ttbomk, so they're now selected again and changes made in i3 config work for the bar and titles.

I had also changed the font in Firefox to Bauhaus, and now it can't be changed to another.

I've gone into QT, but that has no effect on this.

The font displayed in windows appears corrupted, since upper case T H J seem bold but no other letters do that. An aliasing/anti-aliasing issue I'm guessing. The font for the tabs remains Bauhaus, and it looks like crap.

I have no idea what I'm missing here.

Any ideas?

I'll try that next time. I've re-installed Xtended and Mint 19.2 after the latter broke, while Xtended pulled a kernel panic, so I wiped the SSD and installled it as the only distro on the drive. We'll see how long before I break another distro. Hopefully I'll have more to go on.

Always best to choose for one distro on one ssd or harddisk.
No interference and frustration needed.

Agreed. It's only 240 GB so more room to breathe. So far so good.
