[SOLVED]Belgian eID-reader

Post by Ferre » Fri Oct 05, 2018 8:46 am

All right, here we are again. I managed to install eid-mw via AUR (found the right key :)) but ... my computer doesn't seem to find my eID-card reader ? How can I make my card reader visible ? Since I'm coming from Debian-derived distro's (shame on me ;)) I'm kinda stuck here ... It's an ACR38u (it's not broken).

Finally, here we go.
It works in ArcoLinux and Antergos (and I think in most Arch-based distro's).

Open terminal and type :
gpg --recv-key 824A5E0010A04D46

Install eid-mw via AUR

Install packages pcsclite, ccid and opensc.
$ sudo pacman -S pcsclite ccid opensc

Enable and start pcscd
$ sudo systemctl enable pcscd
$ sudo systemctl start pcscd

acsccid via AUR

Don't connect eID-reader when installing software.
Switch computer off, connect eid-reader and restart system.
Install Belgian eID addon in Firefox.

Voila :)

Works like a charm with firefox not with vivaldi and chrome extension
Firefox gives you a popup that you should accept.

Installing script is available here.

If problems with key import then run the key import script.

Reboot your system and test it out with firefox and its extension.
