[INFO] Get the ArcoLinux keys from Marco, John, Raniel, Stephen and Brad in

Post by erikdubois »

In the workyear 20-21 all our ArcoLinux coremembers will start building packages.

They will be signed with a key.

If you install the ArcoLinux isos you will get the keys in starting from the November 2020 release.

If you build the ArcoLinux isos yourself the keys will be on your iso.

If you keep rolling, we give you the keys via arcolinux-keyring during normal updates.

If you keep rolling and you update and have issues, we have a script on your pc (if you updated)

Code: Select all

.bin/keys/get-the-signing-keys-from-arcolinux-in.sh
If you keep rolling and you have no script in .bin and you can not install arcolinux-bin-git or arcolinux-keyring.

Do the following steps - this is the content of the script "get-the-signing-keys-from-arcolinux-in.sh".

Copy/paste every line in the terminal. One by one.
Or create a script. See after the keys.

Code: Select all

#Erik key
sudo pacman-key --recv-keys 74F5DE85A506BF64
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 74F5DE85A506BF64

#Marco key
sudo pacman-key --recv-keys F1ABB772CE9F7FC0
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key F1ABB772CE9F7FC0

#John key
sudo pacman-key --recv-keys 4B1B49F7186D8731
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 4B1B49F7186D8731

#Stephen key
sudo pacman-key --recv-keys 02D507C6EFB8CEAA
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 02D507C6EFB8CEAA

#Brad Heffernan
sudo pacman-key --recv-keys 18064BF445855549
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 18064BF445855549

#Raniel Laguna
sudo pacman-key --recv-keys 7EC1A5550718AB89
sudo pacman-key --lsign-key 7EC1A5550718AB89

You can also create a file called keys. Copy/paste the content above into the file and run it with

Code: Select all

sh keys
in a terminal

If you get an error -- Remote key not fetched correctly from keyserver

Add this line to /etc/pacman.d/gnupg/gpg.conf

Code: Select all

keyserver hkp://ipv4.pool.sks-keyservers.net:11371
Alternative servers and ports
Use if the above line did not work on your computer

Code: Select all

keyserver hkps://hkps.pool.sks-keyservers.net:443
or

Code: Select all

keyserver hkp://pool.sks-keyservers.net:80

How can you check the keys are in?

Code: Select all

sudo pacman-key --list-keys
Image

You can get our new arcolinux-keyring the unconventional way if needed

Surf to

https://bike.seedhost.eu/arcolinux/arco ... po/x86_64/

There you will always find all our packages.

Also the arcolinux-keyring.

Download by clicking on the file.

At the moment of writing this is the version.

arcolinux-keyring-20230919-4-any.pkg.tar.zst

Once downloaded go to your download folder.

Code: Select all

sudo pacman -U 'packagename'
and install the keys this way.

IF pacman gives you issues because the repo's of ArcoLinux are corrupt then we hide them for the time being.

Open /etc/pacman.conf and put a # before all the lines of ArcoLinux - easiest to open with sublime-text.

Change these lines from this

Code: Select all

#[arcolinux_repo_testing]
#SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/arcolinux-mirrorlist

[arcolinux_repo]
SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
Include = /etc/pacman.d/arcolinux-mirrorlist

[arcolinux_repo_3party]
SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
Include = /etc/pacman.d/arcolinux-mirrorlist

[arcolinux_repo_xlarge]
SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
Include = /etc/pacman.d/arcolinux-mirrorlist
to this

Code: Select all

#[arcolinux_repo_testing]
#SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/arcolinux-mirrorlist

#[arcolinux_repo]
#SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/arcolinux-mirrorlist

#[arcolinux_repo_3party]
#SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/arcolinux-mirrorlist

#[arcolinux_repo_xlarge]
#SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional
#Include = /etc/pacman.d/arcolinux-mirrorlist
Then type this in the terminal

Code: Select all

sudo pacman -Sy
Then try to install the keyring package again with

Code: Select all

sudo pacman -U 'packagename'
If that worked you can now add the ArcoLinux repos back in.
Learn, have fun and enjoy.
