[OPEN] Libinput Touchpad issue...

Post by bluesfreak72 » Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:48 am

I'm running Arco i3 from the latest ISO. The touchpad is Elantech. I've successfully used /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf to set tap click. I also added 'Option "AccelerationProfile" "2"' to set the tracking speed. When I log out and back in, tap click stays on but the tracking speed goes as slow as before. I have used xinput to set it - and that works until I log out and back in. Help please!

I believe you are using an incorrect option for libinput. "AccelProfile" refers to the type of acceleration - either "flat" or "adaptive". I think "AccelSpeed" is the one you want for speeding up or slowing down the cursor. For reference, this is the contents of my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf:

Code: Select all

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "libinput touchpad catchall"
        MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "libinput"
		Option "Tapping" "on"
		Option "AccelSpeed" "0.5"
EndSection
"AccelSpeed" accepts a floating point value with a range -1 to 1.

For further information, I based my config from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mo ... h_libinput

Hope that helps.
