[INFO] How to change keybindings in Openbox

Post by nalgmann » Fri Nov 22, 2019 8:08 pm

Hi. I'm new with Arcolinux, but I've used arch for a couple years.

I want to modify a keybinding because I prefer albert over gmrun.

What I did is uninstalling gmrun, deleting the keybinding from the graphic utility obkey, then I installed alfred via yaourt and added in albert the shortcut Alt + F2, not using obkey. Everything worked fine. But when I turned off the PC to sleep and when I turned it on, I asked for alfred via the shortcut and an error appeared:

Failed to launch shortcut "<Alt>F2"
Failed to execute child process "gmrun" (No such file or directory)

It seems the configuration is being saved in another way, because obkey configuration is as I left it (without gmrun).

How can I configure the keybinding correctly?

Thanks

do not do skel in your terminal
it will get our config back in and will overwrite yours

Thank you so much for the info. I thought that info would be in this forum but I notice the main site has a LOT of useful articles.

I installed zsh based on an article and now I have albert working and using yay based on your suggestion.

Thanks.
