[SOLVED] Update Manager

Post by Mind_ » Sun Nov 03, 2019 6:03 pm

My update manager (stock one that came with ArcoLunux 19.09.1) doesn't work anymore. I don't see the notification on the panel. When I open the Whisker Menu, and find the link to the Software Update program, I click it, and nothing shows up on the screen. Could there be another instance running that is blocking it? I did try restarting, but it didn't do anything.

Or maybe I need to update it, using 'yay -Syu' or 'pacman -Syu'?

It's getting freaky again...

I'm not seeing the notification on my panel.

I was able to use the Software Update, but since yesterday, I am now unable to use it.

:?

Edit: I should just reinstall 19.11... I see some people are having trouble as well...

It all depends what you do ...

pamac-aur is not from ArcoLinux but from manjaro.

if it gives you problems, I just wait till the maintainer fixes it.

it is an interesting tool to see what is installed and analyze what files are in the packages

BUT BUT BUT

we do not need it - it is nice to have.

updating is done via

update
upall

in a terminal.

I would not do a clean install for pamac.

ps. no issues here on any of my computers

TBH... I did actually want to reinstall ever since I found my m.2 to PCI-e adapter. I have 2 m.2 cards, 250Gb and 500Gb. But there is only 1 M.2 slot on my board. (does have 2 PCI-e slots, tho...) And I would love to have separate drives for my system and home.

So it's sort of like, I had it planned the whole time. Just couldn't find my PCI-e adapter...
