[INFO] linux-lts or linux - two kernels

Post by erikdubois » Wed Nov 22, 2017 10:56 pm

Linux- lts stands for long time support and is your linux kernel.
Linux is you super recent kernel with all the latest additions for hardware support. That is the one you get with the installation.

Want to try it out then you should know that you have two options now (november 2017)

There are hidden gems on ArchMerge 6.1.1.

OPTION 1

Check the folder

Code: Select all

~/.config/openbox/scripts/
There you have one that installs the lts kernel and one that removes it again.

Use at own risk. That said. Just did on the laptop. Went fine.

But backup before you try.

OPTION 2

You can run the scripts for the ArchMergeD users from this github.

https://github.com/ArchMergeLinux/amd-b ... r/Personal

One to install linux-lts and one to uninstall the linux-lts
