[CLOSED] directory permissions differ on /var/log/audit/

Post by philotux » Mon Jun 24, 2019 9:09 am

Hi,

While updating the 'audit' package pacman warns about different directory permissions:

Code: Select all

warning: directory permissions differ on /var/log/audit/
filesystem: 700 package: 755
Is this a reason to be concerned? How can I correct this?
Your advice and instructions are much appreciated.

greetings,
philotux

No reason to be concerned.
You see them from time to time.

Means the developer of the package reconsiders the permissions.

Pacman reports the difference but does not change it.

Code: Select all

sudo chmod 700 /var/log/audit
or

Code: Select all

sudo chmod 755 /var/log/audit
will do the trick.

I do not bother with it.

Upon next installation from new iso it will follow the new package settings.

I currently have 755 on my directory.
Learn, have fun and enjoy.
