[SOLVED] AUR is causing me issues!

Post by MadmanRB » Fri Jun 21, 2019 5:10 pm

Okay so first major issue with Arcolinux found for me.
I am trying to install packages from aur but I keep on getting errors in both pamac and commandline.
In pamac it comes up with all kinds of "transaction failed" messages and in command line well:

Code: Select all

sudo trizen -s mednaffe

We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:

#1) Respect the privacy of others.
    #2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.

[sudo] password for ralphb:
1 aur/mednaffe 0.8.8-1 [20+] [0.00%] [29 Jul 2018]
    front-end (GUI) for mednafen emulator
2 aur/mednaffe-gtk2 0.8.8-1 [5+] [0.00%] [29 Jul 2018]
front-end (GUI) for mednafen emulator (GTK2 Version)

I have marked it as solved already.

It installed just fine using yay.

Code: Select all

yay -S mednaffe
I choose number 1

1. mednaffe
2. mednaffe-gtk2

Ah so new command to learn then, yeah i have not used a arch based distro for a little bit now.
AUR has had like a bazillion different command line backends and GUI's so I lose track of them LOL!

Edit: is there a way to get pamac to get AUR working though outside of the obvious?
Just curious as this can case issues when a update happens

You can tell pamac to update AUR if you want. One of the later articles/video's.

I use the terminal.

I like to see the messages.
