[OPEN] Adobe flash player only works in sandbox

Post by Serial » Mon Jun 10, 2019 2:02 am

Hello Team ArcoLinux

How do I make adobe flash player work normally in browsers, Vivaldi, Opera and Google Chrome?
At the moment only work in sandbox.

No Opera

No Vivaldi

No Google-Chrome

Note: Adobe flash player and pepper-flash are updated in their latest version.

In some distros it works normally, but distros that are with glibc version 2.29 have this problem. I do not know if this has to do with the problem of adobe flahs player not working properly on some browsers.

We stopped using flash altogether at some point because of security risks.

Until now I have had no use for it.

Maybe someone else's experience in this domain can help you.

You mentioned you solved this issue.

Care to explain how and then change this topic to [SOLVED] in the first post.

Actually the problem has not been solved, but I have received a clarification on the subject that ArcoLinux Deepin stopped running this application that has not yet been extinguished, as other distros normally work the adobe flash player in any browser. Proof of this is that it still exists and is available in its repositories.

Note: Only the Firefox Browser works normally adobe flash player for any page that uses the application.

Well there is no reason why this flash player would react any different as on any other Arch based system.

Nothing is changed on our end in the browsers.

Just your regular sudo pacman -S

In the Manjaro Deepin also the same situation occurs.

I would also like to know where to find it.

These reports and images have already been reported to their respective owners on forums and browser support, including the adobe flash player team, but no one seems to care about this little problem. This is the truth, naked and raw.

In the attempt to find out why Opera Browser, using the adobe flash player plugins does not work, I ended up finding the command to launch Opera via sandbox and thus, using it through the terminal, the adobe flash returns to normal operation.

[edson@edson-pc6540br ~]$ opera with --no-sandbox
[18933:18933:0429/233016.386156:ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(364)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process.

NOT SANDBOXED

For Google Chrome also only works the adobe flash player plugins in sandbox

[edson@edson-pc6540br ~]$ /opt/google/chrome/chrome with --no-sandbox
[27942:27942:0429/235039.994321:ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(368)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process.

In Vivaldi there is also the same situation

Still continuing this post, I inform that there was update in today's date 11/06/2019 of adobe flash player and pepperflash to version 32.0.0.207.1 and the browsers already mentioned previously still do not work the adobe flash player and pepperflash correctly.

Note: On yesterday, I tested the Chromium browser and this is working properly adobe flash player in the browser see images below. If this browser is working, what happens to the others that do not work correctly? Where is the error or blocking to force the use of a certain browser if it is the case. So the fact that the adobe flash player does not work anymore in browsers using ArcoLinux or another Distro with the same platform is somewhat controversial.
