[OPEN] Phantom output issue on Asus N53SV(Nvidia Optimus)

Post by batjka911 » Wed Nov 27, 2019 3:43 am

My experiments:
1.Install ArcolinuxD with Arco-cinnamon.I have phantom output as discribe in Nouveau.
After installing nvidia-390xx driver-phantom output dissapeared.

2.Install ArcolinuxB-Cinnamon. Also I have phantom output.
But after installing nvidia-390xx driver-phantom output not dissapeared.
dmesg | grep nvidia

Xrandr doesn't solve problem.

This topic - a similar problem but not quite

One solution found here.

Questions-is there a difference between ArcolinuxD/ArcolinuxB and what is the correct solution to this problem.
My goal is a Linux laptop no worse than a MacBook.

While I stopped on the first version from this topic, which removed the phantom and unpopulated output connector from the settings, this monitor also disappeared from the LightDm input screen.
And the errors in dmesg
nvidia-modeset: WARNING: GPU:0: Unable to read EDID for display device VGA-0
still remain.

At this level, the problem can be considered closed.
My goal is a Linux laptop no worse than a MacBook.

This laptop is 8.5 years old. And I'd like it. :)

You can mark the topic as resolved. Optimus owners will probably find a solution.
