[SOLVED] burn iso to usb

Post by 7ussam » Sun Jul 29, 2018 8:48 am

Hey guys,

I've faced a problem during installing Arcolinux on my laptop.
When i start booting from USB it doen't start the normal boot screen of Arco, instead it starts another one which leads me to the problem when i click Enter, it dosen't start Arco live.

Although i have the same USB working just fine on my computer, which runs on Bios with MBR , but the laptop which has the problem runs on UEFI with GPT.

I tried Rufus and Unetbootin to burn the ISO and still have the same problem.

What could be wrong?

Hi,if you use rufus , your options is uefi and gpt? if u have issue there is another usb writer called etcher :D
You can use others like mintstick or if you familiar with terminal use dd or ddrescue.

for dd:

sudo dd if=/path/to/[your iso] of=/dev/sdX bs=4m && sync

for ddrescue:

sudo ddrescue -D --force /path/to/.iso /dev/sdX

Someone might have copied a bootable image to the USB drive in order to boot from it. Such an image is often referred to as an ISO because that is the type of file used to represent one. The word “burn” is not normally used in the context of USB drives. It does make sense for optical drives.

there are many free iso burner tool which can help to burn iso image file to USB like imageburn, passcue for ISO, Rufus and more..

and more...
