[CLOSED] Failed to load kernel module due to printer...?

Post by Poetician » Thu Oct 10, 2019 1:06 pm

When I boot up I get an error message. This is related to not being able to install the printer driver for my Brother MFC-J450DW.

"see systemctl status systemd-modules-load.service"

Sometimes, system update locks up and a reboot is necessary, such as now, in this installation on the Kingston SSD.

Do not think so...

I got the message in the past...

Arch Linux gives us plenty of linux kernels...

They will always try to build the kernels the best way possible but sometimes we get these messages ....

After a next kernel update they are gone again.

That is probably what this is.

So update and reboot.

I usually update on near daily basis. After fiddling more with trying to install the printer drivers in both the Awesome and Qtile installations, I concluded the problem installing the printer drivers is incidental to this kernel module message. I'll update till the error message goes away, and wait for further instruction from some kind soul with Brother.

I might as well add that I had installed Plasma by KDE before adding i3, but something broke in Plasma and it wouldn't load, so I decided to save my i3 config and reinstall with only i3. So far so good.
