[SOLVED] Problem with libalpm

Post by Borix »

Hi all,

I run into a problem with libalpm library:

rob@rob-pc ~]$ pamac
pamac: error while loading shared libraries: libalpm.so.11: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[rob@rob-pc ~]$ pacman -S mc
[sudo] password for rob:
pacman: error while loading shared libraries: libalpm.so.12: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can somebody point me in the right direction or what to do?

Thanks!

Use the search on the forum.

search the forum with this "libalpm.so.11"

solution is re-install pamac-aur with yay

Code: Select all

yay -S pamac-aur
Learn, have fun and enjoy.
But first use the power of the Arch Wiki
use the tutorials on https://www.youtube.com/erikdubois
then use the power of google
then use the power of our moderators.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for missing the search, but

[rob@rob-pc ~]$ yay -S pamac-aur
bash: yay: command not found

I managed to unlink and link the necessary files to get back to this situation:

ls -l /usr/lib/libalpm.so*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Jul 1 04:52 /usr/lib/libalpm.so -> libalpm.so.12.0.2*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Jul 1 04:52 /usr/lib/libalpm.so.12 -> libalpm.so.12.0.2*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 219K Jul 1 04:52 /usr/lib/libalpm.so.12.0.2*

Now all is well again...

I am on a rolling version of Archmerge (I think :D ) and sometimes I break stuff unintentionally. I just don't like to reinstall the whole OS when I mess up, but the hunting for solutions is part of the fun...
