[OPEN] nm-applet error:

Post by bluesfreak72 » Mon Oct 14, 2019 10:08 pm

On my laptop, the internal wifi card is not fully supported and connectivity using it is extremely hit or miss. I bought a USB wifi card. When I go to disconnect the internal wifi card so I can connect the USB card, I'm getting an error: (1) org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.network-control request failed: not authorized. I have added my username to the network group, but I'm still getting the error. I've googled around and have not found an answer that fixes the issue. Anyone have any ideas what the issue might be?

My internal wifi card lspci entry is:

Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000 [Condor Peak]

My USB wifi card lsusb entry is:

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188EUS 802.11n Wireless Network Adapter.

Help please!

First link I googled speaks of a bug when I google this

arch linux Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=211581

maybe you should blacklist that one and see if

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188EUS 802.11n Wireless Network Adapter.

then kicks in
