Re: [OPEN] System76 Laptops

I have the Gazelle. That machine has run every Linux distro I have thrown at it beautifully.

I have not tried BSD, I am not an animal. :)

Re: [OPEN] Can one install multiple DEs on ArcoLinux?

I agree with Professor Dubois. As someone who has done exactly this with varying degrees of success I will suggest that if you want Plasma to be one of the DE’s... Start with a Plasma install and set that up before you install others. Also, deepin and gnome each use mutter as a wm, they will be in c...

Re: [SOLVED] Arco Gnome on ArcolinuxB+xfce

From personal experience, can I make a suggestion? Install gnome as Professor Erik recommends. Then create a new user. Use that user to login into gnome from lightdm. Some DE’s do not play nice with each other and for me this has avoided issues I have encountered with competing configs. I have had s...

Formula One 2019

Hello All, Just curious if anyone in the community is looking forward to the new season and what you are most excited to see. I have been watching since BMW Williams was a team so.. 20 years? I pretty much follow drivers at this point, with an eye towards the American Haas team. I am personally look...

Re: [INFO] Laptops which run ArcoLinux

System76 Gazelle Can’t remember if I had it installed on a Gateway NX860S. Only 32bit processor so choices became limited. Over 12 years old and still a beast. It had run any distro I threw at it. 1.2 dual core and 2 gig of ram. When I find the time I will install a 32bit OS on there to see how long...

Re: [QUESTION] What was your first linux distro, and first Arch(-based)?

I “started” with Debian 3 back in 2002 (?) I did not have the time to invest in making everything work (modem, mainly). First real usage was with Linux Mint about a decade later. Lots and lots of distro hopping. Dove into Arch a few years ago and have not looked back. Tried Antergos and Manjaro. Goo...
